Zak’s Diner is opening a new location... Guess where?!
The fifth restaurant site of Ottawa's "locally world-famous" Zak's Diner will open in the hip Westboro neighbourhood. Early February 2023 will see the opening of this well-liked Ottawa diner and brunch place at what was formerly The Savoy Brasserie.
Zak's Diner loves this neighbourhood, and it is close to their hearts; they adore the neighbourhood.
In 2013, the owners of Zak's opened and owned The Savoy. It has a beautiful interior and has always been one of their favourite attractions. They let go of the Savoy after a few business hiccups, and it shifted ownership a few times.
You will soon be able to taste curly fries poutine, The Great Canadian Breakfast, eggs benny, Zak's Famous Milkshakes, and more if you like to visit the Westboro region.
This new restaurant will look a lot like the old French bistro, and it will still have the same vintage diner vibe as its other locations. Its atmosphere will mirror the neighbourhood. Compared to the current site, the interior will have a more adult feel while still having a diner feel.
Although the Savoy Brasserie location may have permanently closed, one of its former chefs is currently working on a new restaurant concept called Ratatouille in the Byward Market. According to The Savoy, the location, which will be an "intimate 50-seat bistro," is scheduled to open in March 2023.
If you're looking for traditional diner fare or contemporary bistro concept cuisine, two new restaurants in Ottawa will be opening soon.
